Choose the right resolution, export selected pages and understand what changes when a PDF becomes an image.
Choose PNG for text and diagrams
PNG is a useful choice when you need a page as an image for a presentation, a document preview or a support request. Its lossless compression avoids the additional compression artifacts associated with JPG. Exporting a page is different from extracting an embedded photo: the result includes the whole rendered page, including text and margins.
Convert only the pages you need
Open the PDF to PNG tool and select your PDF. Choose PNG and start with 144 DPI. Enter 1, 3-5 to export page 1 and pages 3 through 5; leave the field empty to export all pages within the 100-page limit. Start conversion, then save each image using its download link. There is no ZIP download or background upload.
Balance detail and file size
At the same page size, 216 DPI creates three times as many pixels across each dimension as 72 DPI, or nine times as many pixels overall. That can improve small text but uses more memory; a blurry scan will not regain missing detail. Try one page before a large export.
Keep the original PDF
The exported image has no selectable text, working links or interactive fields. Converting that image back to PDF will not restore them. Keep the source for searching, accessibility and signatures. Our browser tool uses a white background, accepts up to 100 MB total and offers 72, 144 and 216 DPI.
